Ice Cream Day on Friday

Ice Cream Day will be on Friday, March 29th for Grades 1-6. Our delicious treat this month will be fudgesticks! Bring in $1 for a tasty chocolate treat at recess and help support the PTA.

Gift Card Tree Winner!

The lucky winner of our giftcard tree was Mr. Riley Abbott. The winning ticket number was 04941. He claimed his prize during the auction at the Holiday Inn on Friday night. Congratulations Riley! Thanks to everyone for their support!

Kinderstart Session #3 on Friday!

Kinderstart Session #3 is taking place on Friday, March 29th. As a result there will be no kindergarten classes for regular students. Also, because kindergarten students will not be in school on Friday for Ice Cream day, they will have ice ream day on Thursday, March 28th.

Tickets for our giftcard tree will be on sale tomorrow during parent-teacher interviews. Tickets are just $2.00 each and you could win over $1000.0 worth of gift cards!

Funky Sock Day! In Support of Down Syndrome

It may be a short day, but if you would like to support Down Syndome Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, feel free to wear your funk socks to school tomorrow!

Last Day for Auction Tickets!

Tomorrow will be the last day to buy tickets for the MQP Auction. While you are at the school for parent-teacher interviews be sure to stop in to the office and get your tickets! All funds raised through the auction will be going towards purchasing technology for our school.

School Ends at 11am Thursday for Students

Don't forget, school ends at 11am for students on Thursday. Buses will depart at 11am for their normal routes. Parent/Teacher interviews will start at 11am. If you have not already booked a time for an interview with your student's teacher, please contact them as soon as possible.

OPTIS System Open!

The OPTIS interview system is now open and you can book interviews with the teachers  It will stay open until Wednesday March 20th at 9am. If you encounter any difficulties with the system please contact the school. Interviews will take place on Thursday March 21st, from 11am-7pm for most of the teachers. PL Session On March 22nd has moved to March 25th

The Professional Learning Day that was scheduled for teachers on March 22nd has now moved to March 25th. As a result, school will happen as normal on March 22nd. However, there will be no school on Monday, March 25th. Sorry for any confusion. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

OPTIS System opens March 15th 9am

The OPTIS interview scheduling system will be open for parents to book interviews with teachers starting Friday, March 15th at 9am. The system will close Wednesday, March 20th at 9am. If you require any assistance please contact the school.

MQP Students win Provincial Free Throw Competition!

Mary Queen of Peace was well represented at the basketball Free Throw Comptetion in Grand Falls-Windsor! Each of the three students won the provincial title for their individual age groups: Nora Foot-Croft (gr 4), Jenna McNeil (gr 5), and Sophie Fowler (gr 6)! Amazing!

School Development Family Survey

The provincial government has launched the annual school development surveys of students, parents/guardians, and staff. The data from these surveys will be used by our school to create our school development plan. Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science Open House - FREE event

The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science’s 7 th  Annual Open House set for this Saturday, March 9.  This event is  FREE  and  FREE  parking will be available in lot 60, just across the street  J The Open House is a family-friendly event with all kinds of interesting booths to visit, exciting tours of the laboratories, a youth interaction station and more!  If you are curious about engineering, this is definitely the place to be.  You will be inspired by the work that the students, technologists and faculty are doing.  Come make friends with a robot… ride our wave tank… check out our 3D printing capabilities… learn about underwater vehicles… discover the science behind a good cup of coffee… explore ideas about environmental stewardship… chill out in our thermal lab or see how different materials are tested for strength.
