  There will be no school for students on Friday, Nov. 20th. Teachers will be taking part in a professional learning day.  School will resume on Monday, Nov. 23rd, which will be Day 3 on the cycle.

School Clothing Fundraiser

MQP is excited to announce that we are partnering with Universal Corporate Wear. a local company here in St. John's to supply our school masks as part of our fundraising initiatives this year. All orders will be done online through a special website setup for by Beresford Inc. In the next week we will be sending out specific details on how to order your very own MQP mask. This fundraiser will not be mandatory for families. However, we appreciate your support! Clothing Order Form

No School on Wednesday, Nov. 11th

  Schools will be closed on November 11th as the observce Remembrance Day. School will resume on Thursday, Nov. 12th, which will be Day 3 on the cycle. 

Family/Teacher Conferences

  OPTIS (our interivew scheduling system) is now available for families to access. Right now it is only available for the registraiton of new users . If it is your first year in the school you will need to register families and students. Please click on the link and register as a new user. If you encounter any issues please contact Mr. Walter at michaelwalter@nlesd.ca The system will open at 9am on Nov. 20th to book appointments. It will remain open until noon on Nov. 27th.  Interivews will not be conducted in person this year. Instead, after families have selected their times, teachers will contact them and ask if they would rather conduct the interview over the phone, or via a video call.  You can access OPTIS by clicking on the image above, the link below, or by finding it on the front page of the schools website.  OPTIS

Flu Vaccines

The Public Health Program at Eastern Health is offering the flu vaccine in school to students in Grade 4-12.  Flu vaccine consent forms were sent home with students last week.   All consent forms are due back to school tomorrow, Friday, November 6th.   These forms must be completed in full, and signed by a parent or legal guardian.  We are still waiting for Eastern Health to confirm the date for immunizations for our school.  We will share this information as soon as it becomes available.  

First Shift Hockey Girls Hockey

St. John’s Minor Hockey Association (SJMHA) will be hosting an NHL/NHLPA First Shift which will be  open to girls ages 6-10*, who have not previously registered for hockey. To find out more information click the link below. First Shift Hockey

  Don't forget, there will be no school for students on Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov. 3rd & 4th). Teachers at Mary Queen of Peace are taking part in two days of professional learning.  School will resume on Thursday, Nov. 5th, which will be Day 6 on the cycle.
