Mary Queen of Peace will be participating in the 33rd Annual VOCM Cares Thanksgiving Food Drive this week. Students are invited to bring in a non-perishable food item at anytime this week.  Thanksgiving Food Drive

Mary Queen of Peace will be taking part in Truth and Reconcillation day on Thursday, Sept. 29th. All students are invited to wear an orange shirt. 

We are so happy to have Chartwells up and running for the new school year! Welcome back to our cafeteria supervisor Ms. Angela Roberts. The menu is posted on our website and it is online ordering only.   At this point, we need families who avail of this service to login to their accounts. Under ‘Accounts’, please click ‘Your Information’ and update your account to reflect your child(ren)’s teachers for this year. We are experiencing some delays with the orders being ready on time, with students listed under their teacher for 2021.   In order to help us become more efficient in delivering the lunches, please ensure that this update is made as soon as possible . In addition, please let your child know if they have an order for that day. It would also be very helpful for them to know what items they ordered. We are delighted to announce that our annual Curriculum Night will be held in the individual classrooms in our school this year! It is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20th from 6:00pm to 6:45pm for Caregivers of students in K-3 and from 6:45pm to 7:30pm for Caregivers of students in Grades 4-6. A reminder that Curriculum Night is for caregivers only as space is limited in the classrooms and we are unable to accommodate students. This event is not an individual family-teacher Conference, as there will be a separate time set aside on Thursday, December 1st for that purpose. In the meantime, it is an excellent opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and to learn about the various classroom routines, practices and expectations. The doors will open at 5:50pm on Tuesday, September 20th and caregivers can use the main entrance on the upper parking lot or the student entrance on the lower parking lot. Signs will be placed on the wing doors to let you know where the classes are located.

The Provincial Government has announced it will join the Federal Government in declaring Monday, September 19, 2022 as a day to honour the memory of Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. This day will be observed one-time only on Monday, September 19, 2022.  On this day, all schools and District offices will be closed so that students and employees will have the opportunity to pay their respects to Her Majesty’s over 70 years of service, while marking the final day of national mourning.  District employees and families are asked to note that this day has been inserted into the School Calendar - 2022-2023 and will not impact the school calendar (days of cycle) for the remainder of the year
