  This is a reminder that Mary Queen of Peace will be closing 1 hour early on Thursday, May 18th for staff to participate in the NLESD's process of developing a new Strategic Plan for 2023-2026. The District is required under The Transparency and Accountability Act to complete a strategic plan, and are currently conducting focus groups and obtaining feedback from stakeholders on the priorities for the new plan. Buses will do their regular routes, but will depart the school parking lot after dismissal at 1:10pm. At this time, we would also like to remind you of our upcoming Professional Learning days on Friday, May 19th, and Monday, June 5th. Monday, May 22nd is also a national holiday.   Our Scholastic Spring Book starts next week! It runs from May 15-May 18th. There will be lots of books to choose from, and teachers have selected a schedule for their class visits. You can check the schedule below, and we also encourage families to come with their students if they are interested.   April Showers brought May... Grey? Hopefully brighter skies are ahead for May, but even if it continues to be overcast, and dreary, and cold and rainy for another month you will still need to know what is happening at Mary Queen of Peace. May 2023 Newsletter

This Friday is our 3rd Kinderstart session of the year. As a result regular Kindergarten students won't be attending school. They will return as normal, on Monday, May 1st.  We look forward to seeing all of our Kinderstart students in school, and their parents, for another exciting session!

April showers may bring May trombones, but right now you need to know when to carry your instrument to school. Keep an eye on the band schedule. Also good for making sure you don't have to pick up a trombone at 11:00 because someone forgot they had band. April Band Schedule
