Chess Club at MQP

Chess Club is on again this year at MQP!

We are very fortunate to have Nihad Dervisevic returning again this year as our Chess Instructor.

Registration:
Registration forms are due to be returned to your child’s teacher by Friday, September
28, 2018.

Schedule:
Chess Club will begin Tuesday, October 16th. As in past years, Chess Club will happen during lunchtimes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The decision regarding which day a given grade will attend Chess Club will be communicated after registration. It depends on the numbers registered by each grade. This will ensure the numbers of players in attendance are equal on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Something new this year! We will also be offering an additional afterschool session each Thursday from 2:30-4:00pm for those students who have a special interest in Chess. Parent Volunteers needed!
In order for Chess Club to proceed we need parent volunteers to sign up! There is space on the Registration form to indicate your availability to volunteer. Please consider volunteering for half an hour once a month. It is vital that we have parent participation to ensure Chess Club continues. You do not need to have any knowledge of Chess to volunteer! We need parents to simply chaperone the children in the room so that Nihad can focus on instruction. Any questions on this, please contact Christina Kennedy at ckennedy@nape.ca.
