MQP Family Literacy Passport

Dear Families,

Welcome to Family Literacy Week at MQP!  The theme of Family Literacy Day 2021 is Travel the World Together!  The Literacy Team has put together an activity families can do at home together throughout this week.  The youngest child in your family will be bringing home a passport today with 7 blocks on the passport.  Throughout the week you are invited to listen to a story read aloud by a staff member at MQP.  Each story is related to or takes place in one of the seven continents on the globe.  At the end of each read aloud the staff member will announce a code word for that continent which you can record on your passport.  After you have read all 7 books and have all 7 code words, as a family you can unscramble the secret message.  Once you have completed this activity, please write your children’s first names along with your family's surname on your passport and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher by Monday, February 1st.  All returned and completed passports will be entered into a draw for one of two family prizes.

You can find the links to all 7 stories in the parent section of the MQP website (mqp.nlesd.ca/parent-portal)

Have fun travelling the world!
