Bussing Update
Hello everyone,
We have had a great day settling back into school at MQP. We are writing at this time to clarify some very important information regarding bussing. Please read the following information carefully. It applies to all families who live in our school zone. MQP has been selected as one of the schools where the Family Responsibility Zone has been removed for the 2023-24 school year and therefore some bus routes/stops/times have changed since last year. It is very important that your child(ren) go to the bus stop that is designated for your address in the Bussing Parent Portal at both pick up and drop off times. We are asking that all families confirm their child's route and stop using the Parent Portal and only use this bus stop.
Of particular importance for tomorrow, Thursday, September 6th
The route changes are as follows:
·Route: 19-033-2A Stop: Pearson St & Lansdowne Pl removed (this is what we call our Blue Bus)
·Route: 19-033-1A Stop: Pearson St & Lansdowne Pl added (this is what we call our White Bus)
Busing
Your child’s bussing information can be found on the new BusPlanner Parent Portal. You will need an account to access the portal. If you do not have an account, go to the link above and click ‘Create Account’. Your child's student number is in the subject line of this email.
During the second week of school, students will be given an assigned seat (with a note going home to families).
If you have a child currently eligible to ride the bus but are not planning to avail of the service, we encourage you to contact the school to indicate your willingness to give up your seat(s). This can open up seats for students who apply for courtesy seating. Please rest assured that no families will be required to give up seats. This is simply a note for consideration for those in a position to do so.
Bussing for Kindergarten students will commence on Monday, September 11th.
Courtesy Bus Seat Applications
Courtesy Seat applications will only apply for students requesting to travel on a route other than the assigned route or for out of catchment purposes.
A parent/guardian seeking a courtesy seat or a change in bus stop along a student’s assigned bus route is required to complete a Courtesy Seat Request Form and submit it to school administration by Friday, September 15th. You will be notified by Friday, October 6th if we are able to accommodate your request.
